Sleeping: A luxury apartment with one double bedroom,bedside cabinets,dressing table in cherry wood and en-suite with toilet, wash basin and shower with a double sofa bed in the lounge area that easily converts to a double bed. Sleeps 4 comfortably.

General: Apartment 40, on the 3rd floor is furnished with top quality furniture and fully equipped for self-catering. It comprises entrance hall with 2-piece cloakroom, toilet and wash basin. The open plan living room has two sofas one of which converts to a double bed, coffee table, dining table and 6 stand chairs. There is a sideboard, storage cabinet in cherry wood, TV, DVD and CD player.

Incorporated is a fitted kitchen in cherry wood fully equipped with appliances. Oven , hob, microwave frig/frezer, toaster, blender, kettle, filter coffee maker and all cooking utensils, safe, cutlery and crockery.There is also a small balcony with views of the mountains.

There is a large wardrobe with storage just outside the bedroom.

HOW TO GET TO BANSKO: The nearest airport Bansko is Sofia (160km). To get there "Cheap Flights" are available from most of the U.K. airports. Use a search engine and write "cheap flights to Sofia). Chepest flights can be found on www.easyjet.com, www.wizair.com, www.flightline.co.uk, www.air.bg, www.alitalia.co.uk.

Transport from the airport to Chalet Montagne can be arranged at a cost of £55/One way and £109/return for up to four persons.


There is a bus from Sofia to Bansko every hour 12leva one way, takes about 3hours.
There is also a train but this takes a tremendous detour and considerably more time. However if time is not a problem the scenery is magnificent and takes you through the highest train station in the Balkans. Fares 2nd class 8.70leva, First Class 10.90leva (one way). On site: Situated in the foothills of one of the country' most beautiful mountains, Bansko is a charming and historic town with the stunning alpine backdrop formed by the Pirin Mountains. A climatic mountain resort, Bansko is known as an alpine skiing, hiking and climbing centre, but it combines its natural beauty and outdoor oppertunities with the atmosphere of an ancient Bulgarian town from the 10th century, and boasts a wealth of culture and history, as well as traditional taverna-style cuisine and colourful folklore, The traditional stone and wooden buildings are an intergral part of its charm and character and many relics and monuments survive from its past. The alpine character of the Pirin Mountains create excellent skiing conditions for all types of skiers.

Less than 15 mins away: Bansko town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It consists of ancient monuments and narrow cobbled streets with some stone houses with 120 monuments plus museums and the permanent ethnographic exhibitions. There are over 100 high quality taverns offering fantastic food, but also nightclubs and discos for a livelier evening. Bansko is the newest and most rapidly developing ski resort in bulgaria. Forty Million Euros have been invested, to create a top rate facility with the best equipment, including a new Gondola, snow guns, electronic ski pass system etc. There are 14 pistes totaling 65 km, including a unique 16 km uninterupted ski run, starting from the Tordorka Peak (2600m) at the highest point of the ski centre, all the way to base station of the gondola lift at the outskirts of town. The last 7km of the slope are lighted, and the entire facility is equipped with artificial snow machines to ensure a great skiing experience even in warmer conditions. Bansko is popular with snowboarders, facilities include ahalfpipe. There is atop class ski school, for all levels of ability. The ski season is one of the longest, roughly mid December until the end of April.

Well signed routes and hikers' chalets. Mountain bikes can hired locally in order to experience the beautiful region. Local companies can organise trips in the mountains e.g. white water rafting, canoeing, paragliding and horse riding. There is also golf to be enjoyed. Also in summer the town hosts a week long jazz festival attracing performers from all over the world.

There are some fashion boutiques in Bansko and more opening every day. There is no Supermarket as such, but there are a number of small shops and self-service food shops that sell all that is required for a self-catering holiday at very reasonable prices. Eating out is no problem with the numerous restaurants.
AT THE END OF THE DAY: After a day on the slopes or exploring the mountains why not take a stroll in the town. Visit one of the many Mehanas (Restaurants) alond Pirin Syreet offering excellent and vaired selection of both traditional and English meals which are incredibly good value. If you like more action there are nightclubs and discos, The Playboy Bar (5leva entrance and about 3leva a drink). Buddha Bar (just off the square as you come down Pirin Street, this is free entry and about 4lev a drink and Amnestia ( just down from the Buddha), 2leva entry and average 3leva a drink. The Lion Pub at the top of Pirin Street is open 24/7 and showsmost of the major football matches on Sky.

Less than 45 mins away: The beautiful Rila Monastery near Bansko is a great place to visit during the warmer months from May through October. Also a visit to the Dancing Bear Park where bears that have been rescued from their captivity are allowed to live in peace.

Bansko and the surrounding villages are known for their healing mineral water springs providing oppertunities for rest and relaxation.
