Sleeping: This large luxury one bed apartment located on the 2nd floor is centrally heated and has been luxuriously fully furnished with top quality furniture and equipment including 2 living room sofas, two of which are sofa beds, sleeping five people comfortably and is located on the 2nd floor. All bedding, linen and towels are provided for guests comfort.
General: Cheap flights available from all UK airports. Use a search engine and write “cheap flights to Sofia". For instance return flights from UK -> Sofia are from £14 per person from wizzair.com (plus taxes).
Car hire is available through HHB or other carhire companies. It costs approximately £11 per day including unlimited miles and full insurance. HHB also offer also offer transfer service for those not wishing to drive. A regular public bus runs every hour from Sofia.
Entertainment: The apartment has a TV and DVD plus Cable TV, and in the Chalet Montagne building there is an Bar, Internet club, Table tennis, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Solarium, Massage room and Gym.
For eating out and après ski, try the traditional Bansko taverns (called "Mehana"), with their exceptional charm and style offer local atmosphere by their cuisine and good selection of Bulgarian wines. Most of the local "Mehanas" even offer live folk music. Many local cafes and bars offer refreshments. Discos and night clubs work without time limit, and usually close early in the morning.
Eating/Living: The kitchen \ dining area is fully equipped for eating in, however the cost of eating out is very cheap, as is the cost of living in Bulgaria. Your money will go several times further here than in skiing resorts in other parts of Europe.

Less than 15 mins away: Bansko is the newest and the most rapidly developing ski resorts in Bulgaria. 40 million Euros have been invested, to create a top rate facility with the best equipment, including a new gondola, snow guns, electronic ski pass system etc. There are 14 pistes totalling 65km, including a 16 km run plus cross country and excellent off piste skiing. Bansko is popular with snowborders; facilities include a halfpipe. There is a top class ski school for all levels of ability. The ski season is one of the longest; roughly mid December until the end of April.

Less than 45 mins away: This is also a great base for historical sightseeing e.g. the famous Rila Monastery. The area is rich in historical remains, from ancient burial mounds to Roman amphitheatres (car required). Many traditional villages are in the area, some of which give the chance to see displays such as traditional dancing, folklore events and bag pipe playing.
Surrounded by The Pirin, The Rila and The Rhodopa mountains, Bansko is a nice mountain resort with short summer and long winter. Enjoy the fabulous scenic walks and beautiful lakes."Moratovo" lake "Valeavishki" lakes & "Popovo" lake.
Extra information: The town of Bansko is located at 925 m. above sea level, and its skiing area is on 2000-2500 m above sea level.
Bansko town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It consists of ancient monuments and narrow cobbled streets with stone houses with 120 cultural monuments plus museums and the permanent ethnographic exhibitions. A very interesting sight is The Holy Trinity church with its 30 m high bell tower and clock, splendid murals and woodcarvings. There are high quality traditional taverns offering fantastic food, but also nightclubs and bars for a livelier evening.
In summer hiking and climbing are popular, with well signed routes and hikers' chalets. Mountain bikes can be hired locally in order to explore this beautiful region. Local companies can organise trips in the mountains e.g. white water rafting, canoeing, paragliding. Also in summer the town hosts a week long jazz festival and other events.
The distance between Sofia and Bansko is 170 km. The nearest International Airport is the one in Sofia. Transfer time from Sofia to Bansko is approximately 2 1/2 hours.
