General: The Apollon 2 Complex is part of the Apollon Holiday Village: the only one of its kind along the South Bulgarian Coast. The Apollon Holiday Village consists of 5 separate Apollon Complexes built to the same design, each occupying their own spacious grounds and complete with their own enormous swimming pool. Each of the 5 Apollon Complexes are adjacent to each other and are linked via landscaped walkways.

The Apollon 2 Complex is ideally positioned at the forefront of the holiday village (closest to the beach). The Apollon 2 is a relatively small and private complex, yet as it is part of the much larger Apollon Holiday Village, the Apollon 2 Complex benefits from a vast array of facilities for the holidaymaker to use. This means that you have the best of both worlds: peace, privacy and tranquillity, and all of the fantastic facilities you would expect from a much larger holiday development.

Guests staying at the Apollon 2 Complex are free to use any of the facilities within the Apollon Holiday Village. These include:

A choice of 5 very large swimming pools complete with separate children’s swimming area
A choice of 5 sun terraces with comfortable padded sun loungers
Poolside bar serving drinks and snacks, open until late
Games room complete with pool table
Children’s play ground
Private tennis courts
Apollon fitness centre
Apollon mini market for daily conveniences

Bookings for larger groups can be accommodated by renting more than one apartment within the Apollon 2 Complex. I can arrange this for you at a special rate through my numerous contacts with other apartment owners within the Apollon Holiday Village.

On site: The Apollon 2 Complex is situated between the village of Ravda and the ancient town of Nessebar. This gives the Apollon 2 complex an enviable positioning since both resort centres are within walking distance of the apartment. This stunning stretch of coastline, with its picturesque bays, natural golden dunes, rocky headlands and spacious sandy beaches, links Sunny Beach with the holiday villages of Elenite and Sveti Vlas to the north, and Nessebar and Aheloy to the south. There are easy road links to the centre of Nessebar and Ravda, with a regular bus operating between these two resorts, via the Apollon 2 Complex. Should you choose to take the bus, the journey to either resort centre takes no more than 5 minutes.

The area around the Apollon 2 Complex has recently developed into a resort centre of its own. There is a good variety of restaurants, bars and shopping facilities in the immediate locality of the apartment complex. Added to this, there is of course, the great choice of facilities within the Apollon Holiday Village.

There is a choice of two beaches literally 80m away from the Apollon 2 Complex. The waters are calm and good for swimming whilst there are plenty of sunbeds available for sitting and soaking up the sun. The more popular of the two beaches is Harmony Beach. The beach is sandy and gently shelves down towards the sea. This particular beach is well known for the shipwreck sitting just off the shore which attracts snorkellers and the occasional diver.

Less than 15 mins away: The neighbouring resort of Ravda is located less than 1km to the southwest of the Apollon 2 complex and is within easy walking distance. With its two sweeping, sandy bays separated by the old fishing pier, its tree-lined streets bustling with café-bars, restaurants, amusement arcades and souvenir shops, its narrow, twisting alleyways meandering down to the beach and, above all, its heady Mediterranean ambience, Ravda offers its visitors an exciting, invigorating but totally relaxed holiday experience. Less visited than some of the other resorts along the Black Sea Coast, Ravda is quieter and less developed than the nearby larger resorts of Nessebar, Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas. As such, the prices for food and drink are certainly the best that you will find in the local area.

One of the most attractive features of Ravda is its recreational amenities. Together with sunbathing and relaxing on the beautiful sandy beaches, there are fun activities throughout the resort for the whole family. The more active will find countless ways of enjoying the sun and the sea - diving in the crystal-clear waters, windsurfing in the light breezes, sailing along the rugged coastline - from early mornings to starlit evenings, every day will offer a special experience. And if all-night bars, throbbing discotheques and wild beach parties are more to your taste, then Sunny Beach is only a few minutes away.

The Apollon 2 Complex is also within the vicinity of Nessebar. Only 1.5km away, the new town has an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops to explore. It is also where you will find the medical centre, dentist and police station. There are two sandy beaches here and a pleasant stretch of parkland separates the coast from the main road.

Located to the west of New Nessebar, the turrets of Aqua Paradise Water Park can be seen from behind the apartment complex. Accessible via a short walk across the scrubland or by the free water park bus that runs past the Apollon 2 Complex, the water park was opened in 2006 and covers an area of 30 000 sq. km. It is the newest and biggest water park in Bulgaria with over 20 attractions, which include water slides, tunnels, swimming pools, wave machine, amphitheatre, restaurants, and a swim up cocktail bar.

Without doubt, it is the old town of Nessebar, with its cobbled streets and timber frame houses, that is a must see for anyone staying in the area. The ancient part of the town is situated on a peninsula (previously an island) connected to the mainland by a narrow man-made isthmus. The old town has existed for more than 9,000 years and bears evidence of occupation by a variety of different civilisations over the course of its existence. Its abundance of historic buildings prompted UNESCO to include Nesebar in its list of World Heritage Sites in 1983.

Less than 45 mins away: Bourgas is the second-largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast with a population 205,821. It is also the fourth-largest by population in the country, after Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. Home to the country’s largest sea port, Bourgas functions as both an industrial and tourist centre.

Overlooked by most tourists, Bourgas is a surprisingly attractive city. Though the city's suburbs are somewhat dreary, the centre is pleasantly urbane and tourist-friendly. Social and commercial life in Bourgas centres on Ulitsa Aleksandrovska, the long boulevard that scythes north-south through town. The upper part is sedate, shaded by trees and largely residential, while the lower end of the avenue is brash and colourful, lined with cafés and thronged with people. Everyone comes here to stroll in the evening, walk their dogs or just sit and drink a coffee or two.

The other axis of social life in Bourgas is Boulevard Aleko Bogoridi which ends near the attractive and well-kept Sea Gardens which are laid out with flowerbeds, statues and fountains, and dotted with cafés providing splendid views of the sea. Steps from here descend to the city's long sandy beach, patrolled by lifeguards and fringed by more restaurants and bars. Strong winds along this coast make windsurfing a popular activity, and boards may be hired from the Morski Klub.

The presence of visiting ships and passing tourists gives Bourgas a certain cosmopolitanism - especially in late August, during the folk festival. There is a wealth of attractions within the city which include the Bourgas Regional Historical Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, The Museum of Nature and Science, Art Gallery, Opera House and Terrarium.
